Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby: Work in Process

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby met as architecture students at the Royal College of Art in London and founded their British-based design firm BarberOsgerby in 1996. Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby: Work in Process, lecture sponsored by the Architecture and Design Society of the Art Institute of Chicago, FebruaryLaunched to critical acclaim with the design of the Loop Table, produced by Isokon in 1997, the firm has since become known for their diverse output in which they experiment with new materials and technological processes to create elegant work pared down to its essential elements. Their portfolio of work includes lighting for Flos, furniture for Established and Sons, and glassware for Venini. In 2006, BarberOsgerby was jointly proclaimed, along with Established and Sons, "Designers of the Future" at Design Miami/Basel.

BarberOsgerby's work is held in the permanent collections of museums around the world including Victoria and Albert, London; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Design Museum, London; and the Art Institute of Chicago.
